The Texas Legislature established the TEXAS Grant to make sure that well-prepared high school graduates with financial need can go to college. Eligibility Requirements As of Fall 2014, public community colleges, public technical institutes, and public state colleges will no longer be able to make Initial Year (IY) TEXAS Grant awards to students.Total enrollment will be determined collectively from traditional, nontraditional and Flex Classes. If a student withdraws from the class after aid has been paid, he or she may be required to return a portion of the financial aid received for the term.
