The Glock 30S is a hybrid gun between the Glock 30 and the subcompact G36. It gives you a thinner, sleeker 10+1 G30. Here it is between the tiny Springfield XD-S and the regular sized Glock 30. The gun comes with 2 10 round magazines. This front view gives you a good idea of the size difference between a standard G30 and the G30S.The G30S/G36 barrel has a smaller O.D. with thinner walls and is significantly lighter. A barrel from a G30/30SF will physically not fit in a G30S slide. I find that the 21 has a little heavier trigger pull than the 30, which may be a characteristic of this gun only. However, I find them both about equally accurate. I do most of my dryfiring with the 21 because of the heavier trigger pull.
Jun 3, 2015 · The 30s carries noticeably better IWB. The standard 30 will handle widely-available 45 ACP as-is, 45 Super with a barrel/RSA swap and 460 Rowland with the proper conversion. While not in the same class as the 460, the 10mm has plenty of thump. I haven't tried it, but I am told the 29 can also be adapted to fire 40 S&W.Thinking about a Glock 30S or a Shield .45 2.0. I have mags and holsters for both. Have carried a 30 before, and a Shield 9 Plus, so pretty familiar. Both about the same size, clearly the Glock is a little thicker and the Shield under and inch in width. The Glock has the advantage of taking G21 mags for backup. As accurate as anything else I have ever shot and a pleasure to shoot compared to an officers model 1911. I decided to go a different direction and sold it. It is basically a G36 slide on a G30SF frame. That makes it a little lighter, about 3 oz. less compared to the G30/G30SF.

The 30S is a gen 3 that has a slim slide and the “shortened” frame. Technically it’s a slimmer frame because I believe the width of the grip is marginally smaller horizontally if I’m not mistaken. The 30 gen 4 has the regular thick slide with the SF frame. I know, kinda confusing.As may be noted from the information below, the calculated recoil of the heavier pistols is less than that of the lighter pistols.
