Also, HTB oil is availible from Farmland Industries. This oil is also compatible with M-4864-A. Be weary of buying cheep oil, as it has a tendency to become gummy.

There is a big difference between engine oil ( 15w40) and the oil used in your hydraulics (80/90w or UTF). For one thing, the viscosity uses a different measuring system. 40w engine oil doe not have the same viscosity as 40w hydraulic oil. For another, they have totally different applications.you dont say which 2000 you have, but any universal tractor hydraulic fluid will meet or exceed the original spec for that tractor. AND the later 2000 has over 44 to 54 years history of NO problems using the original spec'ed oil. And the oil spec'ed for the later 2000 was approved also for the 4000-9000 tractors with wet brakes and wet clutches.
