Bullet seated .005 off the lands. I ran out of bullets before taking them out past 500 yards, And moved onto amax's because the bergers are so damn.As previously mentioned, the only difference in the .308 loads chosen were the powders and weights. Each cartridge used a 168 gr. AMAX, Federal LRP primer and had an OAL of 2.810. Varget— 42.5 grain. Ramshot TAC— 42 grain. I just threw together a bunch of 308s [generic 308 reamer] from parts lying around and they got to go to the range once, musical chairs with a 40X Leupold, on Jan 30, 2009: 110 gr Vmax moly .308 LC or WW brass, 44.9 gr surplus bulk IMR4895 that acts more like H322, 2.815".H4895 is a great powder for a .308. I would rate Varget, H4895 and IMR 4064 as my top three choices. The H part of H4895 indicates that it is a extreme line series powder made by Hogdon. Use Hodgdon's starting loads for Varget and 150-155 grain bullets and that'll be safe. It may not be that accurate but you'll be safe. You can always work up some from there if you want. There's alot more punch in those 34s, over a standard 200. Same deal with CCI 41s for small, and CCi 400 standards, vs' 450 Magnums. Those 41s are magnum-powered.
